Festive Friday and Purple Onion Designs Giveaway!

Greetings! I hope everyone is having a good week. It's cloudy, cool  and rainy here today, which I actually love, especially this time of year. We have a fire going and there's a pumpkin pie Scentsy melt filling the air with wonderful smells! Oooh I do love it!

Do you ever have stamps that are so pretty that you're afraid to use them? Well I do this sometimes. I don't really know why I won't get them out of the package and use them. I don't know if it's because I'm afraid I won't be able to make something as lovely as I think I should with them, or if I just want to save them because they're so pretty?? Anyway, this set was one of those, but when I saw the challenge at Festive Friday, I forced myself to open this package! haha! This lovely set is from WPlus9 and it has so many wonderful little things to stamp, stamp again and die cut. I cut out tons of stuff and just played around with all the pieces until I was happy.

I'm so glad that I forced myself to open these up!!

This is going to the Festive Friday Challenge which was to use a wreath on your card.

More Exciting News!!

Yes, that's right! I was thrilled to be invited by Michele of Purple Onion Designs to be on the Holiday Design team!! Their images are precious!! I have seen a sneak peak of the new holiday designs and let me tell you, they are just adorable! I'm looking forward to working with Michele and the other design team members!

Well, I don't have a new card to show you today, but I'm working on that right at the moment. Got some lovely Christmas goodies out to play with today! I'll share soon!

Also, I just recreated a new facebook page for my cards and crafty projects if you would like to follow me there :) You can click on the link in my header above or the active link right here.

Several people have asked to see a picture of my newly remodeled craftroom, so here's a peek of my little piece of heaven. This is just the corner where I do most of my work. Although, I am pretty new to the blogging community, I have been stamping for almost 20 years. I am so happy to have my own little space now. I have a terrible time turning off the light and walking out at night!

Thanks bunches for stopping  by! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Paper Smooches November Guest Designer!

Yep!! That would be me!! I am soooooo excited to be chosen to be the guest designer for Paper Smooches for this November!! When I got the email, I almost fell out of my chair! The kids were watching me dance around the living room asking "What's a Paper Smooch?" haha!! Seriously I'm thrilled :) Over the past few months I have just fallen in love with their cute images, as you can see by the cards I've posted with them :)

So to celebrate a little, I had to make another card with some of their cute designs. The rays I made using the Power Ray die. I just cut it with patterned paper and glued that down to some white cardstock, then cut it out with a circle die. I paper pieced the trees and cut them out. Colored the little bird with Copics and cut him out and attached everything with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing in my exciting news :) I hope you all are enjoying your weekend!!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Lawnscaping and Country

Hello and Happy Friday!!  Oh how I love that Friday feeling!

The Lawnscaping challenge this time is to pick a photo from Pinterest as your inspiration. I thought that sounded like fun, since I never go to Pinterest and I needed an excuse to browse... ( that was a joke :)

I tend to like graphic designs, so  here is the photo that I chose to be inspired by:

And here is what I did with it :

I love little squares! I've always loved crossword puzzles, counted cross stitch, grahics and anything that has to do with little squares. My Dad even used to tease me growing up, saying that I even cut my food up into little squares to eat! haha!

Anyway, I used Winter Owl stamp set and dies and Fa La La paper pack from Lawn Fawn for this. I just cut all my square with a square die and adhered them to the white cardstock. Colored my little owl guy, cut him out with the matching die and popped him up with some foam tape. Added the sentiment and a few scattered snowflakes and adhered the white panel to my red card base. There you have it!

I'm also adding this to CASology where the theme is country.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you are all having that wonderful Friday feeling and have a happy weekend!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Country Girl gone City?

Well not really. I love my quiet country lifestyle, but I have say I adore this cute stamp set City Scene, by Papertrey Ink! I could play for hours stamping all those little buildings and cars. So much fun! And even if I am a country girl at heart, Christmas anywhere is splendid!

I used my new City Scene set and dies from Papertrey Ink. I stamped everything and cut them all out with dies. I added a little glitter on the tops of the buildings and the trees. It doesn't show up very well in the picture. I then popped up the trees, the road and the car with foam tape and stamped the sentiment.

I'm adding this to the Merry Monday Challenge at Playing With Paper. I chose the Carol Silver Bells, one of my faves!!

Have a wonderful day!! I have some exciting news to share soon!! I can't wait!!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

Here I am with another creation made with my cute Paper Smooches stamps. This one is for the Sparks Challenge at the Paper Smooches Challenge Blog.

This week the challenge was a sketch:

For the background I used The Power Ray die to cut out the snowflake paper. I used the die to make an impression on my white paper, so I could easily glue the cut out snowflake paper in place. I then placed this behind my polaroid die cut. I added the stitched banner and the joyful cut out and then popped up the snowman, bird and pole with foam tape. They were all colored with Copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,

Kay :)

A Different Kind of Pumpkin

Well I have never seen a blue pumpkin and I normally like to stick with the traditional orange when it comes to my pumpkins, but when I saw the Curtain Call Challenge, I had to give it a try. I thought all the blue pumpkins that the design team used on their cards looked pretty awesome :)

So here's what I came up with:

And I liked my little blue, well tealish, pumpkin! :) I used lots of different things on this card. One of my favorite things to do is to stamp and cut out lots of things at one time. I keep them in little plastic containers on my desk, so I can grab different things to layer on my cards. Well I grabbed lots of different little pieces for this one and I'll do my best to let you know where everything is from. The pumpkin and the leaf for the flower are from WPlus 9. The stitched die and notebook paper are from Lil Inkers. The flower is from Verve. The message, the scroll work frame, and the larger sunburst thing are from Papertrey Ink, and I believe the tiny flower in the center of the orange flower is from Stampin' Up! Whew! heheh!

I am also adding this card to the CASology Challenge

Festive Friday - Whimsical

Oh I do love whimsical, I do love pink, and I really love Christmas!! So put all three of those together and you have pure magic! :D

I did this card for the Festive Friday Challenge whose theme this time is "whimsical".

Did you notice anything missing from this card? Yes, sadly there are no birch trees in this one. heheh! I had to move on. These are fir type Christmas trees, which I really like too, so it's good :) I used more of my Paper Smooches stamps. I'm stuck on this Warm Hearts set and can't seem to stop. I have a few more cards to post with it and then like my birch trees, I'll be moving on. Anyway, isn't that fabulous paper I used at the bottom? When I saw it I thought it was sooooo perfect for this card. It already had that cute little scalloped border on it. It's Merry and Bright by Carte Bella. I glued that down, rounded my corners, then adhered the white scalloped piece, which I had already colored with my Copics and paper pieced. I then added the little extras with foam tape.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Kay :)

Merry Monday #78

It's Saturday! That means I am playing in my craft room all day today!! Yay! All responsibilities are out the window. It's just me and my stamps... ;)

I did this card for the Merry Monday Challenge.  The challenge was to have a bird on your card. My challenge is to have birch bark in every card I make! haha! So there it is! This is more of my Paper Smooches stash. Just love it! I stamped the birch trees on white and colored them with my Copics. I trimmed it and mounted it on a Sahara Sand card. I then added a strip of Sahara Sand cardstock to the top and the bottom. Added the sentiment and red border then popped out my little snow guy and cardinal. Fun! Fun!

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

Kay :)

CAS-ology-Crisp

Well nothing says "crsip" to me more than that first cool snap in the fall. So I decided to do a fall card for the CAS-ology challenge.

Theres that adorable birch tree stamp. Did you see it in there? I'm trying to stick it on as many cards as I can right now, before I get tired of it :) I do love it! So yes, these are some more of my Paper Smooches goodies. I colored them with my Copic markers. I embossed the brown circle with woodgrain texture, glued down the birch trees then cut it all out with a circle die. Popped up the little scarecrow and pumpkin with some foam tape and stamped the sentiment! There you have it!

I still have a couple more cards coming with the birch bark ;) heheh!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Paper Smooches Sparks Lace

Greetings!

I decided to try my hand at the challenge over at the Paper Smooches Sparks blog today. I just got some of my first Paper Smooches stamps this past week and I adore them! They are so cute!

Well, I am head over hills in love with birch bark right now. I know that's crazy, but it's true. While we were in the mountains out west, I took tons of pictures of just the bark on the birch and aspen trees. It's so pretty!! So when I saw this set of stamps with the little birch trees, there was no question about it, I had to have it! This is just one of many cards I've made with it. I'll post more later :) Anyway the challenge word was "Lace". I had a hard time trying to figure out how I was going to incorporate lace into my fall card with my little birch trees, but this is what I came up with. I kind of like it :)

I stamped the lace first, added the panel of white, stamped the message, then popped up my cute little trees that I had colored with my Copics.  So fun! :)

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Hello all!

I am home from vacation and in between unpacking and the mounds of laundry I had, I managed to make a card. I am so so happy to be home. Coming home is always my favorite part of vacation. My husband always makes fun of me, because when we get about 10 or so miles close to home, I get so excited that I start sweating! haha! And I'm not a sweaty kind of person. I'm pretty cold natured normally. Anyway, this homebody is sure happy to be home :)

I did this little Halloween scene for the Curtain Call Challenge, which was to create a spooky scene. Not sure how spooky this is, but it's a bit Halloweeny :) And as you can see, I am still having so much fun with my Lawn Fawn goodies. I can't seem to let these cute little animals go. I cut a scalloped border and used that to sponge around for my clouds. Glued some patterned paper down for the ground, stamped that scary tree in the background and after coloring all the other little cuties with my Copics,  I die cut them and popped them out with some foam tape.

And before I say goodbye here I wanted to share one of our vacation photos. Here is me with my two wonderful kiddos at Yellowstone. We had planned to be there four days, but the snow ran us out. We were very lucky to make it back home to Missouri before the snow caught up with us. In Nebraska, where we were just two days ago, they got three feet of snow! Yikes! What happened to fall??

This was right before my daughter dropped my point and shoot camera into one of the thermal pools. :( Luckily, it was the one she was using and I still had my SLR.

Hope you all enjoy the weekend and make lots of cards for World Cardmaking Day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,

Kay :)
