Festive Friday #26

Hello and Happy Friday!

First thing I want to do here is to thank everyone who commented and sent me emails about my clay ornaments SO very much! I can't tell you how much your kind words meant to me. It's one thing for me to like them, and of course my sweet husband, but I really had no idea I would get such a wonderful response to them, and I have to say it just really made my week! So thank you again so so much! I am sweeping off the cobwebs in my Etsy store and making a new banner. I hope to have some in there for sale soon!

Now it's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday

Check out the cute inspiration photo! When I first looked at it, I thought "that's a cookie, and I don't have any cookie stamps." Hmmmm.... I kept trying to figure out what I would use. I even thought, well, I'll just go with the colors and the holly. Okay that'll work! Then as I got started, it totally dawned on me that gingerbread men are Christmas cookies! haha! And gingerbread men I do have! So I got out my little Papertrey Ink guy and went to work :)

and here is what I came up with!

The gingerbread man , holly, pine and snowflakes are from Papertrey Ink. The bow and little sprig of Mistletoe are from WPlus9. The sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse. The stitched mat is from Lil' Inkers.

I just stamped and die cut all the pieces, arranged them in a pleasing manner and stuck them down with foam tape. Voila, a Christmas cookie card! :D

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

I hope you all have a safe and wonderful weekend! The are predicting an ice storm here for us on Sunday. Oh I can't tell you how wrong I hope they are.

Hugs,

Kay :)

Polymer Clay Ornaments

Hello and happy Wednesday!

As promised, I am back today with some photos of what I've been obsessively working on lately. I can be very intense at times when I get going on something, and I have been so focused and intense working on these things.

I had an idea for these a couple of months ago, but I refused to get the clay out and try it. I love doing my clay work, but it's a lot of work to get the clay out of the freezer, condition it and mix colors. Then it's not something I can just run into my room and work on for tiny bits at a time, which is what I usually only get. But this idea just kept gnawing at me and gnawing at me until I finally threw my hands up in the air and ran to the basement and got the clay out of the freezer. If you haven't ever worked with polymer clay, I keep it in the freezer so that it stays soft and workable. Over time if it's just left sitting it will get hard and crumbly. Anyway, I got it out and spent one whole Saturday conditioning it and mixing my colors. Then I got to work on my idea :)

I must say I have been so thrilled with these. I have actually been designing them in Illustrator on the computer before actually creating them in the clay. In the past, I have always made cute little figures, like animals, snowmen, Santa's and Angels, so these are quite different from my norm. I actually got the idea from creating all of my designs with the Perler beads.  And my Mom and hubby teased me so about playing with those things. heheh!

So anyway, here are a few of my latest designs. I have worked on things, changed things around, and redid things, until I finally figured out a way to do this that works. I hope you enjoy seeing them!

My husband is a huge fan of my claywork. Out of all of the crafty things I do, he loves my clay the best. He always loves it when I get back into creating things with it. He thinks I should put some of these in my Etsy store. I'm thinking about it...

Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you've enjoyed seeing my latest creative endeavor. I'll be back soon with some cards! I just got a nice fat little package of new Lawn Fawn goodies, that I'm dying to play with!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Purple Onion Designs

Hello all!

I hope the week has started out fabulous!

I have not been making quite as many cards as I was. This is not because I have lost interest or even because my mojo has been missing. I actually am wanting to make cards very much, but something else has taken over my creating time and I can't stop! I am going to take a few pictures as soon as I can and post them on my blog so I can show everyone :) I can't wait! They are fun!!

But for now... I do have a fun little card I made with some super cute Purple Onion Designs stamps.

For this one, I used the adorable little squirrel Peanut  and the sentiment is from a group of three stamps called Sweet Offerings all from Purple Onion Designs.

The stitched circle die is from Lil Inkers and the flag die is from My Favorite Things.

So.... would you like a little sneak peek of what I've been working on non-card related? ??

Okay...

Okay, I promise to be back soon with some pictures of the whole thing! I've been having so much fun with them!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Kay :)

The Card Concept #4

Hello! It's Wednesday again and it's time for  another challenge at The Card Concept! We have been so thrilled that so many people have liked and joined us for this new challenge!

We have this gorgeous photo inspiration for a floral theme this time. I was inspired by the lovely springlike colors.

Here's what  I came up with!

I stamped the lace ( Recollections) across a white panel, then cut a bit off the edge before mounting it on my base card which I had adhered the green patterned paper. I then stamped and die cut all of the flowers and greenery ( Avery Elle) and arranged them with foam tape. Last I stamped the sentiment ( WPlus9).

Thanks so much for stopping by! Stop by and see what the other designers have created and  I hope you'll join us for the challenge at The Card Concept!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Festive Friday #25

Hello and Happy Valentines day!

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday

Check out the gorgeous inspiration photo! I knew right away that my card would have candy canes on it when I saw this photo. I wanted to stick to only the red and white with a touch of pink also.

and here is what I came up with!

All of my stamps here are from Papertrey Ink. Everything is from the Candy Cane Christmas set except for the sentiment, which is from Snowflake Flurries and the flower, which is from Bells and Boughs. I first stamped the diagonal border with red and moved it slightly over and stamped again with pink. I stamped the candy on a stitched die circle from Lil Inkers, then layered the two pink candy canes and the flower on top with foam tape.

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

I hope you all have a happy Valentines day and a wonderful weekend! I am taking my two kiddos out to eat at Applebees for lunch today to celebrate Valentines day :)

Hugs,

Kay :)

Card Concept #3

Hello! It's Wednesday again and we have yet another challenge at The Card Concept!

This week the theme is monochromatic with this gorgeous inspiration photo.

I was inspired by the beautiful flowers in the vase and if you're going to do monochromatic it should be pink right? ;)

Here's what  I came up with!

I stamped and die cut all of my pieces and pretty shades of pink, then played with until I got like I liked; then adhered them all with foam tape! I used Snow Flurries stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink, and the small pink flower on top is from Verve. The sentiment and frame are also from Papertrey Ink. The stitched mat in the background is from Lil Inkers. I'm so sorry, but I'm not sure what company made the leafy dies. They are just stuck on my magnetic board with no name. Shame on me! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Stop by and see what the other designers have created and  I hope you'll join us for the challenge at The Card Concept!

Hugs,

Kay :)
