My heavens! I almost missed my Card Concept post! I am usually on the ball with this, and have my post scheduled days ahead of time, but something happened this week. I didn't even know today was Wednesday! I was still thinking it was closer to Monday or something. Thought I had scads of time! Oh well, it's still Wednesday, so technically I'm not late, right? ;)

The new challenge is monochromatic purple... did you hear that? Yes, the whole entire card must be in lovely shades of my favorite color... purple. Purple has been my favorite color since I was born. I love it! I don't like the pinky purple as much. My favorite shade is periwinkle purple, which is a tad bit on the blue side.

Here is the inspiration photo for this challenge:

And here is what I did with it:

All in lovely shades of purple :D The background squares are cut with a neat color blocking template from Taylored expressions. The flowers and lace I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo. The leaf and swirl are from Memory Box and the little corner photo holder thing is from My Favorite Things.

Stop by and see what the other designers have created and  I hope you'll join us for the challenge at The Card Concept!

Do you want to see a little peek of some things I've been working on?? Oh I am so loving working with my clay right now. I'm sorry to all of my card buddies, that I haven't been posting as many cards. I just can't pull myself away from the clay!

Here's a peek! :)

Springy things!! Yay!!

Have a wonderful happy rest of the week!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Festive Friday #30

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

It's time again for another challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the gorgeous inspiration photo for this time around. I knew I wanted to go with the big red star and the word joy.

Here is what I did with the inspiration:

I didn't have any star stamps ( gasp!) but I had these super neat stitched star dies from Lil Inkers that I used for my big red star. The Joy and snowflake dies are from Wplus9 and the pine boughs are from Obsession Impressions. I used the Papertrey Ink woodgrain impression plate for my kraft strip across.

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!

Kay :)

New Ornaments in Etsy Store!

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and is enjoying some warmer spring weather :) We have been in the 70's for the past few days and it's been sooooo nice. The flowers are blooming everywhere!

Here is a picture of me with Mr Frito on Easter standing in front of the blooming crabapple tree. Isn't it gorgeous!! The tree not me! haha!

So I wanted to pop in and let everyone know that I just added a bunch of new ornaments to my Etsy store, some in some pretty springy colors!

Here are a few of my faves:

If you'd like to take a look at all the new ornaments you can see them all in

Thank you so much for stopping by!

I'll be back tomorrow with a new card and challenge for Festive Friday!

Card Concept #8

Well another Wednesday has rolled around again. The weeks just fly by these days. It's time again for a new challenge at The Card Concept. I have to tell you that I had the hardest time choosing a winner for the butterfly challenge. There were SO many stunning cards and I could have easily picked 20 winners! No kidding! They were all so amazing! Anyway, I hope you'll join us this time around too :)

The new challenge is to use an umbrella on your card. When you think of an umbrella, you normally think or rain right? Well, I couldn't help but think of a bright beach umbrella out in the warm sunshine. Can you tell it's been a long winter here :) haha!

Here is the inspiration photo for this challenge:

And here is what I did with it:

I really had a lot of fun creating this card. It took a while though :) I cut the umbrella, sun and cloud out with my Silhouette Cameo, with files from Miss Kate's Cutables. The sand was cut from a die from MFT and the water was just a scalloped border turned upside down :) The stitched main die is from Lil Inkers.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Stop by and see what the other designers have created and  I hope you'll join us for the challenge at The Card Concept!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Festive Friday #29

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

It's time again for another challenge at Festive Friday!

I'm so sorry  that In linkz wasn't working properly last challenge. I hope that won't deter anyone from playing along with us this time around. I think we have  it all fixed now :)

Here is the gorgeous inspiration photo for this time around. Meredith picks out the most beautiful photos! I am finally giving some of my lovely WPlus9 stamps a good work out :)

Here is what I did with the inspiration:

All of the stitched panels are dies from Lil Inkers. I cut the arched window out of the white one with a die from Sizzix. The lacey border is an older stamp I have had for a long time from Recollections. I just recently rediscovered it and am loving it! Everything else is from WPlus9.

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

Also, I added a few more ornaments to my Etsy Store. I have had a lot of people encouraging me to make some Springy ornaments and some for other holidays, not just Christmas, so that's what I'm doing :) I am loving using some bright and fun Spring colors and I'm looking forward to doing something cute for fall and Halloween too!

Here's what's new in the Store:

I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!

Kay :)

New Ornaments in My Etsy Store

It's Friday!  Yay!

I used to not care so much about Friday until I started homeschooling, now the kids and I live for Fridays! haha! Hope you all are having a good one!

I just wanted to pop in here before the weekend and let anyone who might be interested know that I added 12 new ornaments to my Etsy store

Here's a little preview.

I'm having so much fun making these and I am so thrilled that people like them!! I do have to save a couple out of every batch I make to keep for myself. I think this Christmas I might do a whole tree with nothing but these!

I can't believe I am already thinking about Christmas! haha! It'll be here before you know it though! I am having a seriously hard time believing that it's already April!

Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by my blog!
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Hello and happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone is doing well! I had a wonderful weekend with my hubby. I took both of my Mac computers in to be updated with the new OS, I got two new pair of glasses, I picked up some new clothes for the kiddos, AND... I got to go to both Michael's and Hobby Lobby!! I have a great guy don't I? :) We did lots of other fun things too, but the best part of all was getting home and seeing my dear little family and my dogs... OH and making something!! I can only go so long before I have terrible creating withdrawals! haha!

Anyway, it is time again for the wonderful Card Concept Challenge! Every week it's so fun to see all the different ways that each of you interpret the inspiration.

So this week we're doing butterflies! How perfect for spring! Yes, Spring is going to happen this year. I have faith!

I only have one butterfly anything and it's a new lovely die that I got for Christmas from MFT. Can you believe that I have not one single butterfly stamp? I don't know what's wrong with me!! I need to remedy that this year! :D

So anyway, this is what I did with my one butterfly die.

I just randomly cut up some patterned paper on the diagonal from some scraps that I had, and glued them down for the background. I'm sorry, I don't know where the paper is from. I love to cut up my paper and take it out of the packs and scatter it all around in different places in my craft room when I get it. So it's rare that I know, who, where it's from. That lovely butterfly is from My Favorite Things as is the nice little Hello Friend sentiment. So there you have it!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Stop by and see what the other designers have created and  I hope you'll join us for the challenge at The Card Concept!

Hugs,

Kay :)
