A Little Something by My Mom

Happy Saturday to you all!

I told you the other day that my Mom lives next door, and they she loves to stamp and make cards too. Well, she came over one day this week to show me a lovely card that she had made. It was so pretty, that I took a picture of it right away so I could show it off on my blog. She doesn't blog. She has horses to ride, and doesn't have enough time for that foolishness ;) heheh! Matter of fact, she will only make cards if the weather is too bad to ride a horse, otherwise, she is off on a ride with one or several of her horse riding friends.  She's a gem, and I love her to pieces!

Here is her lovely card.

Didn't she do a wonderful job! I love that pretty paper that she used! She borrowed my new WaltzingMouse stamps and dies for the flower and I do believe that leaf is from Papertrey Ink.

And here she is on her beautiful horse lady.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Card Concept #11

Well my friends, this week has just rushed by me so far. I think it was having Monday off for Memorial day that made me not even realize that today was already Wednesday!

And Wednesday means another fabulous challenge at The Card Concept!

This weeks challenge is to create a card using the colors Yellow, black, white and grey.

Now I'll be honest with you, these are most definitely not my go to colors. Matter of fact, I don't even like any of them very much, unless they are in small doses mixed with other pretty colors ( pink). But you know what? I really like the way my card turned out and I'm thinking I might have to give these colors another chance :)

Here's what I came up with:

In my last post, I showed a little peek of some new PTI goodies that had just come in the mail. Well, this flower is using the new Button Stacks from PTI. They have three of them now, and let me tell you, I LOVE THEM!! I spent all day long just cutting hundreds of them out in all different colors. Then I spent the next day arranging them and making neat little flowers and designs out of them. SO fun! I hope they come out with more!

So anyway, everything on the flower is from Papertrey Ink, the leaves are from Memory Box, the cute little tag is from Papersmooches, the stitched dies are from Lil Inkers and the sentiment is from Papersmooches too.

Here's a peek of my little plastic storage containers full of Button Stacks! I just love looking at them! haha!

I have an obsession with little storage containers. I got these at Walmart. They look just like the ones that you put ketchup in at some fast food places. Perfect for my little cut outs! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Stop by and see what the other designers have created and  I hope you'll join us for the challenge at The Card Concept!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Festive Friday #32

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

It's time again for another challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the gorgeous inspiration photo for this time around.

Here is what I came up with:

I've had this stamp set for probably two years and have never used it! So when I saw that tree in the photo, I knew exactly what set I was going to use!

The arched die is from Sizzix, the scalloped border is from Lil Inkers and the stamp set is Tree Trimming Trio from Papertrey Ink.

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

You want to see a little peek of what came in the mail yesterday??

Oh gosh!!! There is going to be some serious piddling going on in my craft room this weekend!! Yippee!!! I just love a box of new stamp stuff!! And I also ordered some of the adorable new Lawn Fawn stamps that just came out yesterday! Can't wait!

I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!

Hugs,

Kay :)

You Are Special

Hello dear friends!

It's been a while since I've posted anything. I have been thoroughly enjoying the warm temperatures, spring flowers and not being on the computer quite so much. It's been lovely!

I have been making some cards though. I sneak away to my craft room every little chance I can and play. Actually I've been piddling a lot lately. I posted about piddling a while back, if you didn't read it, then what piddling means to me is, to just play with my stamps and card stuff with no particular goal in mind. No challenge to go by, no person I'm making it for, no reason, and no aim, just to get my stuff out, start coloring, cutting and gluing and see where it takes me. Sometimes I forget all about this, and get kind of serious about things I'm doing, and I lose my joy. When things start getting bogged down and I'm thinking , "this isn't as much fun as it used to be" that's when it hits me.... I forgot about piddling!!! Oh heaven's don't ever forget to piddle!!!

So I've been piddling again and it's soooooooo wonderful!

Here's where my piddling led me yesterday!

I LOVE patterned paper!! I also love clean cards with white space. It's sometimes hard to combine the two you know? So I'm always looking and thinking of different layout ideas that will allow me to use a bit of patterned paper, and still have a clean looking card. I came up with this design which I loved so much I made two more just like it in different colors!

All of the flowers and leaves are from Papertrey Ink, the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted, and the arched dies are from Sizzix.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you are having a good week so far! I'll be back on Friday for a new Festive Friday post! Meanwhile, I am going to keep piddling away here!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's day to all of those wonderful mother's out there :)

I hope you have a fabulous day with your family.

I made this card for my sweet mother. I am so blessed to have the best Mom in the world for my neighbor and my best friend. We have so much fun together. She loves to stamp also, but doesn't blog. She just takes all of my cards home and copies them! haha! She also reads my blog so she's going to see this ;) Love you Mom!! I hope you have a wonderful day!

This is really my favorite style of cards to make. I love to just cut stuff out and kind of cluster and center it on a white background. I don't think you can beat that look ;) The two background stamps are from the set Day Dream Medallions by Stampin' Up! The flowers are all from Waltzing Mouse. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and the swirly thing is from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. Have a wonderful Mother's day!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Festive Friday #31

Hello my friends!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

It's time again for another challenge at Festive Friday!

Here is the gorgeous inspiration photo for this time around. Oh goodness! I love anything candy canish! My only problem was trying to decide which stamps to go with!

Here is what I came up with:

I decided to go with Papertrey Ink's Candy Cane Christmas. I stamped and cut out the mug and candy canes. I really wanted another candy cane facing in the opposite direction, so I stamped and cut out the one on the left from a set called Scentsational Season from Stampin' Up! The bow is from Avery Elle. The sentiment is from Snowflake Flurries- PTI. The stitched mat is a die from Lil Inkers. Seriously don't know what I did before the stitched mat dies came out!

Anyway there you have it!

I hope you will play along with us at Festive Friday!

You can also check out the amazing talent from the other design team members at Festive Friday!

I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Butterflies and Little Houses!

Hello dear friends!

I just wanted to pop in here and let you all know that I have added a few new ornaments to my Etsy Store.

I have lately been obsessed with butterflies and little houses :) I'm having a real hard time not keeping them all though. I keep telling myself, I can make more, but I really have a strong aversion to making the same thing twice, so when I really like one, I keep it! :D

I have managed to let a few of them go with the thought that I do have pictures and if I really want to, I could make another one :)

I've also finally released my hold on Christmas, and moved into Spring with some new pretty pastel and summery bright colors. I'm loving it and having so much fun with these!

Here's just a few of the new ones I've added. If you want to see them all you can check out my Etsy Store here.

Okay the little house is still a bit Christmassy, but I am working on some Springy flowery ones at the moment :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Hello Spring!

Well, it's more like Hello Summer here!

Do you know it was 94 degrees yesterday? Now I am truly sorry for those of you who are still having snow, but personally I would trade the snow for the heat any day. I am not a lover of hotness, and I haven't had enough spring yet, for summer to come rushing in like that!

Okay enough of my heat rant! heheh :) I have a nice little springy card to share with you today. And I am really hoping that my nice "warm" spring temps return.

Now I realize that this card has an egg on it and Easter is over, but I'm still making Christmas cards too right? So what's wrong with an Easter egg after Easter?

This adorable little flowery egg is from Purple Onion Designs. I colored it with my Copic markers and cut it out. It is mounted with foam tape on the stitched mat, by Lawn Fawn. The sentiment is from Purple Onion Designs also.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

I hope you enjoy your week!

Hugs,

Kay :)
