Paper Smooches New Release!

Hello Friends!

Paper Smooches February release is now available for sale here!
There are some super cute new things!
One of my favorites are the new Sassy Letters Dies

I am not big on making Valentines cards. It just comes too close on the heels of Christmas and I am always still in a Christmasy mood :) This little card though, definitely qualifies as a Valentines card and will be sent to someone on my special list.  I watercolored the background with Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress inks. I colored the unicorn with Copic markers, cut it out with the matching die and adhered it to the watercolor panel with foam tape. The Sassy Letters dies, that create the word Love were cut with glitter fun foam! Oh I love that stuff! It's even sticky on one side, so no adhesive! I just think that's great! I cut the you out three times, glued them together and glued that just below the love. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins to make it special :)

Merry Monday Guest Designer

Hello friends!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I spent both Saturday and Sunday working on my clay things and doing some cards for my design teams. It was so enjoyable! I love it when it works out that I get both weekend days to craft!

Today I am sharing a card with you for the Merry Monday Challenge where I am thrilled to be the guest designer this week! Thank you Katie so much for choosing my card as the winner last week! :) The theme this week is Carolers or a musical themed Christmas card. I searched high and low, but couldn't find a single caroler in my extensive collection of stamps, ( can't believe that!) so I turned this cute little Paper Smooches kitty into a caroler! He really looks the part doesn't he? So cute!

I've been playing with my watercolors a lot lately and I'm wanting to watercolor everything! haha! I had an idea in my mind when I did this background. I wanted it to look like a cold snowy night with some light, possibly emanating from a streetlight. I started in the center with some yellow and then worked my way out to the edges with blues, blue greens and purple. I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I cut a snowy hill and mounted that to my watercolor piece. I colored the kitty, his accessories and tree with Copic markers and added them with foam tape, then mounted the whole thing on an A2 card base.

Supplies:

Hat-Paper Smooches
Sentiment- Paper Smooches
Tree-Paper Smooches
Scarf- Lawn Fawn
Snowy hill- Lawn Fawn

Stop by Merry Monday and see what all the fabulous designers have created with this theme and play along!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Penny Black Frosty Fun!

Hello Friends!

I am so excited to share a card with you today that is actually on my blog, and you don't have to travel anywhere to see it! This one is made with some adorable stamps from Penny Black. I do so love their cute little characters!

This card doesn't have a critter in the snow, but an adorable little girl and her snow cat! So cute!
So I started by stamping the snowy tree with Versamark ink and embossing it with clear embossing powder. Next I sponged  Peacock Feather distress ink on it bringing the beautiful snowy tree to life! I spritzed drops of water on it, and then took my paintbrush and some plain water and swooshed across the bottom to create a snowbank for the little girl and cat. I colored the cute characters with Copic markers, cut them out, and added them to the scene with foam tape. I cute the Hello die out three times, glued them all together then adhered them to the top of the panel. Then I mounted the whole panel on an A2 size card base.

Curtain Call Challenge, NBUS, and a Clay Peek!

Hello and happy Sunday!
I hope you all are enjoying the day! I have a card to share today for the Curtain Call challenge and Darnell's NBUS Challenge, and a little peek at what I've been doing with my clay.

I think .... that this might just be my favorite card I have ever made. If you've noticed lately, I have been enthralled with winter scenes with little animals in them, and preferably foxes, but I do love most cute little critters :) Everything on this card, except for the Hello was under the tree this Christmas, and what a fabulous Christmas morning it was! haha!

I started this card by stamping the white snowflakes in the background in Versamark and embossing them with clear embossing ink. I then sponged some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over it. The little village scene is from Cottage Cutz. I love it! It looked funny with the snow showing through the windows though, so I cut another one out of yellow and glued the yellow pieces in the windows and doors. I colored the adorable little fox with Copic markers and the Hello is cut from glittered Fun Foam. Love that stuff! I don't know about you, but I absolutely detest glueing layers of word dies together. I do it, but I don't like it. There's got to be an easier way!!

Supplies:
Snowy background-My Favorite Things
Village Die- Cottage Cutz
Snowy Hill- My Favorite Things
Fox- WPlus9
Hello die- Serendipity Stamps

So this card is going to the Curtain Call Challenge which is Soft Scarf. My little fox has a soft scarf on, so I hope this qualifies. It's also going to Darnell's NBUS Challenge, because this is all NBUS!

Now if you are still reading, here's a peek at what I've been working on with my clay. I took December off from my clay work , because it's an insanely busy month, and I wanted to be able to enjoy the holidays. I just recently got the clay back out and you'll notice in my photo that my clay work has been heavily inspired by my card making! I have been creating little winter scenes with animals in them! I've been having a lot of fun with these!

Allright! That's all I have for you today! It's going to get up to 60 degrees today and the sun is shining, so yay for that! The boys are out cutting trees down, so it's just the girl and me for most of the day. We're going to do some fun crafty things and maybe take a nice long walk with the dogs.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Kay :)

Merry Monday Challenge #141 and more NBUS

Hello Friends!

The weather took a turn for the better, the precipitation turned back into rain, and I was able to get my new crown put on yesterday. It feels a little strange, but it's done and I am so glad :)

Today I am playing along with the Merry Monday Challenge! The theme this week is Christmas Critters... and I just couldn't resist that, because I do love Christmas and I do love critters!

I used this adorable set Merry Christmoose from Sugar Pea Designs for my card. I colored everything with my Copic Markers, stamped a few trees in the background and added a little sponging back there too. I drew those little snowflakes with my white gel pen. I then added the snowy hill, trees and cute moose with foam tape. The next best thing to a fox in the snow is a moose in the snow!

I'm also adding this to Darnell's NBUS challenge, because it's newbusstuff to me :)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #97 Winter Themed

Hello friends!

I hope you're enjoying your Sunday.  It is raining here and it's below 32 degrees... that spells trouble. We're going to have some serious ice I'd say, and I have a dentist appointment in the morning. Looks like I'm going to half to wait even longer for that crown :)

I have another winter themed card for you today. I'm trying to cram as many winter cards in as I can before everyone is sick of winter and wanting springy stuff :) This has certainly been the year for foxes in the snow for me. I have lost count of how many cards I've made with foxes this season. I just love them!

I'm also playing along with the Lawnscaping Challenge this week. To my complete horror, I realized that I hadn't even used any of my new winter Lawn Fawn stuff and that is a tragedy my friends! The challenge this week is winter themed, so I had to get my little fox and birch trees out for this one :)

I first used Pumice Stone and Broken Glass Distress Inks on some watercolor paper for the background, then spritzed with water. I added the birch trees and the two fluffy trees to the background and then mounted the snowy hills with foam tape. I added the straight tree between the two layers of snow for some dimension, and then the little fox with foam tape too. I stamped the sentiment and then added the two snowflakes with foam tape. I mounted the whole thing on a kraft A2 card base.

Supplies from Lawn Fawn:
Joy To the Woods-stamp set and dies
Making Frosty Friends stamp set
Stitched Hillside Borders
Stitched Snowflakes
Stitched Rectangles

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Pretty Pink Posh Birthday Celebration!

Hello Friends!
I am so super excited to be participating in the Pretty Pink Posh Birthday Celebration Blog hop! This is day three, and if you've been following along for the past two days, I'm sure you've seen the beautiful new dies and sequins that Paulina is releasing! She's such a sweet person, and I'm just thrilled to be showcasing some of her wonderful products!

If you're following the hop, you just arrived from the ever so awe inspiring Debbie Hughes' blog.

For my first project, I used the new Pocket Border die. I did not use it in the conventional way as a pocket, I had to get a little creative with it :) I cut it out twice and used it to frame the circle and cute little fox. I then added some snowflakes and some Springtime Mix sequins to my card.

My second card features the Stitched Duo 3 Dies, which I LOVE! Anything with little squares in it is a hit with me and the stitching... ooooooh love!!  I used the die to created this cute shaker card. It was perfect to make a little window for these adorable little bunnies to sit on. I filled my shaker card with the new Sweetheart Mix sequins! So perfect for Valentines day!

Pretty Pink Post Supplies:

Be sure to stop by the Pretty Pink Post Blog for  lots of fun prizes including  a Big Shot machine and ALL of the PPP dies, a huge sequin prize pack, gift certificates and some extra surprises... AND  a special 3 day coupon code! So much fun!!

Next on the hop is the sweet and talented Joni Andaya!

NBUS and 200 Weeks of Inspiration Challenge

Hi friends!

Today I am playing along with a couple of challenges!

Darnell's NBUS challenge
and
Kara's 200 Weeks of Inspiration Challenge

I got so much fun new stuff for Christmas I couldn't resist using some NBUS, and I am always so inspired by all of the gorgeous cards I see on Pinterest, that I really wanted to play along with Kara's challenge too.

For Kara's challenge I chose this absolutely adorable card by Kim. When I first saw this on Kim's blog I thought it was the cutest thing ever, so of course when I saw it on Kara's Friday Inspiration board I knew that was the one I wanted to CASE.

I didn't have the little Taylored Expression's Fox that Kim used ( but I will) so I used a cute little fox I got for Christmas from Cottage Cutz. The little tree is from Taylored Expressions.

Supplies:
Tree-Taylored Expressions
Embossing Folder- Taylored Expressions
Fox- Cottage Cutz
Stitched snow hill- Lawn Fawn
Sentiment- Papertrey Ink

Paper Smooches New Release!

Hi friends!

I hope you all have a wonderful new year's eve and are ready for a great 2015! I'm ready, I'm just trying desperately to  recover from the holiday goodness and find that familiar routine again. I'm kind of all over the place right now! haha! Not that that's a bad thing, I just feel floaty... can't seem to figure out what I am supposed to be doing.  I've got a ton of new stamps and dies I want to play with, I got my clay out for the first time in over a month, and I want to knit.... too much funness and not enough me's! :D

Anyway, Paper Smooches just released some super fun new stamps and dies! Here is a card I made with the new Fruit People dies. They are SO cute! There is a matching stamp set, but for my card I used only the dies.

I paired the Fruit People dies up with the Flower Dies to create this cute little fruity pair! I sponged a little ink on the edges of the fruit and added a little bit of detail with my white gel pen! So fun!
